See! Your mom was right! I mean in the sense that all this musing and doubting and wishing is due to the topic of intimacy as in 'yes' or 'no', moms know best! I'm kidding...making light of an intricate topic which affects us all and yet there is no one booklet that can help with 'issues of the heart', follow your heart they say but who are they? Life is just messy, you win some, you lose some and then you find some on a whim, a glimpse, a whisper, by sheer happenstance and even those may be in your life just for a reason, a season, or a lifetime. It is the canvas of life and all we meet throw some paint on in, in the end it becomes a full and hopefully beautiful painting. I was brought up Catholic, but my parents were laid back and not strict, so I was a confident, happy and outgoing child. The church, convent school, acne and mums cancer diagnosis had a profound effect on my early teenage years though. I was 21yrs old when I lost my virginity to an Italian hunk in London.He was shocked ! I feel I am back to being more like my confident pre teenager self in character though now, but still not confident in the bedroom which is partly because of the mastectomy I had for breast cancer in 2012.

Brilliant stuff and this is what so many experienced, that lack of confidence in an almost self sabotaging and not deserving way.
I think it does stem from parental and early influences around instilling the confidence needed around relationships.
