Yes, the Kuna leaving was a sign of the times, the peoples on the ground who I spoke to all knew it and did not want it but they have 'Schreibtischtäter' there as well, the bureaucrats who beLIEve they will be spared if they just play game a bit longer...Started going there in April '22 to recover from the shellshock of the sniffles time, 5 times in total, I mostly travel off season as the whole of Europe is on the beaches in high season, not nice, however when travelling with teenagers you have to offer them some 'life' 'action' 'stuff', off season that place is fabulous. The locals did not kowtow to the draconian measures as ordered by the control sickos, Thank God! Like you said they do what they want and just ignore the signs and live their life as best they can. The land is amazing, the coastline glorious, the earth still produces better olive and lavender oil than in most places where they are hyped, the quality is amazing. The water is crystal clear and healing. Enjoy your trip, Grüß Gott!

Von der Leyen needs the money to centralise power. The Croats have seen it all before and thus don't bend. Good on 'em.

It is strange how the holiday world really does refresh us and stop us thinking about all the crazy current political situations etc.I've just come back from lovely Yorkshire(York, Harrogate and Otley) I can't be bothered with any doom and gloom podcasts now.A fresh start!Enjoy the rest of the holiday.Sorry to hear about the negative changes, like the expense and closed down restaurants, of beautiful Croatia though 🙄
