Excess Socialism?
I wonder when and if we will see a backlash against the taxation and the State that taxes? I ask this because the trend over the last few years seems to have been towards more and larger State provision of services, a growing sea of people who cannot or do not wish to work and expect to be looked after whether immigrants or indigenous, and talk of universal credit fuelling that along with the threat of AI.
What I see is an increasingly fat army of bureaucrats doing very little for large salaries who need to justify their existence by making things more complex - look at my attempts to navigate the US pension/social security eligibility I have as an example! Civil servants who feel entitled and enjoy a sense of control over the rest of us are often politicised people with an axe to grind I have found.
Meanwhile, those of us that believe in self-sufficiency albeit with a small but reliable safety net appear to be declining in numbers. On the other hand, there does appear to be a growing push back from folk who distrust the State to manage anything efficiently and who view the growing pretence of need for an increasingly large State as a threat to personal freedom. I know that I do.
Socialism is a miserable system that has failed to provide anything but debt, inequality and poverty everywhere it has been applied. I am not sure that this is the fault of the idea of socialism itself or the application of it usually by despots, tin pot dictators and those who hide behind its power to control. The addition of a safety net and certain services has to my mind been a positive thing but like most positive things, the continued swing of the pendulum to more and more of a ‘good’ thing has actually turned into a very bad thing in my opinion robbing many of the will to thrive as opposed to serving a small minority who cannot thrive under most circumstances.
It is one of those conundrums that cannot be solved because of diversity of opinion and cost/benefit incentives yet balance is key here.
I will make a prediction that AI will be a bust largely in this incarnation yet will cause many mistakes to be made worsening the situation generally. The incredible amounts of investor money pushing AI means it is too hot and it will likely crash taking many others with it this round. Only after that crash, will AI start to really show promise. And this interestingly enough is part of the excess of capitalism isn’t it!
Anyway, I for one am sick of paying ever increasing amounts of taxes to support a bunch of people in high-paying jobs with attitudes and a narrative along with an increasing army or people who have no desire to contribute in any way to society. In the end, I suspect many will feel like me and there will be a holding to account.
This is the way of balance.
Yup, the idea after wwtwo to have a 'safety net' came into being for a good enough reason, but first after Bismarck introduced it to placate the people, he allegedly also had a false flag attack done on himself to increase his popularity, but hey I wasn't there to prove it so it is just conjecture. So here we are with a word which includes being sociable, social, but which makes peoples soulless, thrive less, driven less, prone to waiting on their overlords to throw them some chips and only moving if they know the chips will be a tad bit more whilst being extracted from all their own energy in chips, so they extract a thousand and give you 1 back. It is also the sign of the stupidity of mankind in that sense, the dumbing down of America is an interesting clip, I'm just blabbering my own birdbrain off to let of steam, I know it will be read and you may even get a chuckle out of it, being in this socialist state is a vibe I do not like, I do not gell well with is so me gotta go to Pirateville to carve out an existence, but before I do that I get to enjoy my other favourite island Albion, I love the earth, it is magical, and it does something nice to many peoples, the ocean is not too far away. The non intelligent but very quick with its tentacles in many databases ai, is just 0 and 1, soulless too, but quick, it's a tool, it's handy if you know how to ask questions, otherwise you're screwed believing it is a little god as opposed to understanding there is a big God and ai is just a little thingy, the overlords like it because it puts more space in between them and the plebs, you can't blame 'em, look around, I wish you a lovely day, Grüß Gott.
I think you're spot on. I hope most people over 40yrs old are beginning to see that Ai is a big con and doesn't work. I don't believe any of the predictions will come to much...🤞All the proper trades and skilled artisans really are in demand and the civil servants / agents/ pen pushers are feeling threatened and very small I'm sure.
