In a Zak Bagans show....
A couple of years ago, Jeff Belanger - a reasonably known paranormal writer, researcher and TV personality - contacted me to ask if I would like to help out with an episode of new TV show. I have known Jeff for a couple of decades at a distance as once upon a time and in a different world, he had been my client! He was once a marketing manager for a software vendor and I am an analyst in that space….
Anywho…..
The show was at Houska Castle north or Prague and since I had written about the place, he reached out to ask if I would be interested in helping out. Houska is known as the gate to hell and has a long history of weirdness and a host of half-true legends around it. I had covered in in my book - The Czech Republic - The Most Haunted Country in the World - and in a few video shorts and videos on my Youtube channel. Of course, I said yes.
I drove up to Houska and met the film crew at around 6pm. They put me up in a beautiful hotel and fed me before we all drove out to the castle around 9pm. I have to say, I had a marvellous time - the crew were friendly, funny and professional. It was good hanging out with a bunch of Americans again as well. They had a number of guests for the episode and I was number 2 on the list …. However, I was to play a sort of host role.
It was pretty late by the time my turn came around and I brought dowsing and earth energies into it. I pointed out that it seemed to me that someone had disrupted a node at the Castle by placing a stone cross and a block of stone in the lines and that it was partially this that had brought such a negative energy vibe.
I then took them on a tour of the building pointing out various locations along the way. At one point, we were all crammed into a small room at the front of the Castle and I am talking about the murder of a Swedish occultist - satanist - on the spot when the sound went all weird - suddenly my voice was distorted and I asked - do you all hear that? They all nodded. The atmosphere turned and I was eager to leave ASAP. Once outside, the producer who had been filming me told me that someone breathed in his ear…. he didnt look around because he was leaning against the wall!
I had a great time and around 2am left to drive back to the hotel. However, driving through the forest on a narrow bendy road in the pitch black after attending this event was scary as hell. Every now and then, a red pair of eyes would sparkle out at me (deer) or a sandstone rock face emerge in the darkness all covered in strange shadows… I was relived to make it back.
I haven’t seen the episode. Its not available here in Czechia but I am on iMD.com as appearing so I must be in it. The stills also feature me twice. I would love to find a way to watch it or hear from anyone who saw it. The series is called Zak Bagan’s Destinations of the Damned and I’m in episode 4 - Nazi Portals to Hell. Its on Discovery and so on I believe.
Anyway - the episodes came out October 2, 2024. All I can say is I had a hell of a time……
