I remember my parents expressing some concern about why soccer players were paid a fortune versus their relative importance in society. They felt that kicking a ball around for a couple of hours on a Saturday afternoon wasn’t worth the fame, celebrity and fortune that these players enjoyed as compared to say a teacher or a nurse. I think they were right but I also think they understated the amount of dedication that goes into becoming a star soccer player and how short that career is. Still, they had a point. We tend to over reward all the wrong people.
So forward 30-years and I find myself asking a very similar question. However, it’s not overpaid mouthy celebrities of film, sport, music and TV that concern me quite so much as a new breed of young ladies. Yes - young women. While I personally discount celebrity as silly and some of the salaries as off scale ridiculous, I do recognise that the clown has always held a somewhat special position in society for distracting people from the drudgery of their own lives.
But, back to these young women. I’m not gonna bother to mention their names for if you have grasped what I am talking about here then there is no need to reward these very misled ladies anymore than they already are. Yes, having sex with a 1000 men in 24 hours is now an activity that gets applause, admiration and a fat payroll on Only Fans. Can you believe that? Their father’s must be soooo proud.
Now, let me say I’m not a prude. I’m not anti pornography in the right context to be honest and in fact, I’d say I’m glad it is out in the open now where it can be monitored and regulated for abuse. I’m not against sex either - in fact, I’m all for it in the right context. But can anyone explain how we got so upside down and back to front that sex with a 1000 men in 24 hours is a spectator sport? Is this the modern equivalent of a Roman ampitheater in which men kill and main each other for sport?
You know, I can imagine that in the darkest recesses of the world of pornography, someone might and probably has dreamed up a movie like this. It may well be nothing new for all I know in that dark corner of that industry. But here it is entertained on mainstream media like GBNews! WHY?
Is the modern generation so money-motivated that displaying everything and more on a site for a $5 a month subscription is deemed a wonderful job?
There is probably nothing new under the Sun and maybe I’m making a mountain out of a molehill here but I wonder what women in general feel about being promoted in this manner? Is it a good thing that it is acceptable to admire women for having sex with 1000 men in 24 hours? What does it do to the idea of women and the feminine? Or is it just the natural extension of the pornography industry?
Either way - I feel old.
The way my co workers laughed and slighted at this stunt disturbed me slightly. Especially since most of them have young daughters like myself. She was interviewed by some fellow after the event and started crying during the interview. I pointed out to the lads that this was the effect of her soul leaving her to which the all just looked at me puzzled. So not only is this woman unaware of even having a soul, it seems the people im surrounded by at work are also equally unaware. Oh well. Time to chop wood and carry water.... Again
it’s by design to make us feel wretched in a society in which depravity is out in the open and applauded. just adds to the general angst and malaise we all feel on a daily basis
